What are your plans for today? If you’re like me and most other Americans, you’ve probably got a list of activities that might include things like, laundry, grocery shopping, washing the car and more. And while you’re at it you may try and slip in some relaxation time.
Let me ask a question. With all the things you’ve got on your plate today, is there any time set aside to read the bible and worship God? I’m here to tell you that this is absolutely the best way to start your day. Why? Because God will tell you what His plans are for you today.
If you were given the option of choosing which plan to follow, I hope your choice will be the smart one and follow God’s plan. His plans are the best and with Him guiding you through His Holy Spirit you will have success in getting things done according to His will for your life. And at the end of the day you will have a great feeling of accomplishment.
So, take some time right now to dig out your bible, read, and then praise and worship God. He’s waiting for you.
Every person needs to hear a “wonderful.” Here is why. Companies spend billions of dollars to convince us that we are chubby, smelly, ugly and out-of-date. Inadequacy indwells a billion hearts.
Would you distribute encouragement? Will you make some happiness happen? Will you remind humanity that we are made in God’s image? That we are chosen, destined, and loved?
Start by listening intently. Ask someone to tell you his, or her, story. Give the rarest of gifts— your full attention.
Praise abundantly. Biblical encouragement is no casual, kind word but rather a premeditated resolve to lift the spirit of another person. Everyone needs a cheerleader.
Give the gift that God loves to give—the gift of encouragement. This is how happiness happens.
When you wake up on Sunday morning what do you do? Do you lie in bed, drink coffee and read the paper? Or do you do nothing and just laze around for the day? Good news. Sunday mornings can be more than that.
Sunday is the beginning of a new week. It is a time which can be used to prepare for those things that will happen during the week. It’s also a day that can be used to spend time with family and reconnect with loved ones.
And, Sunday can be used as a day to worship our Lord, Jesus Christ. Going to church and listening to a sermon is part of the process for praising and worshiping God. It is more than singing songs and making contributions to the offering, however. Church is also a time to reconnect with our Lord and Savior and to bless His holy name through personal and joint prayer.
How you approach Sunday and what you do in church will make a big difference in your day and your life. By listening to God’s word and fellow shipping with others in the congregation, you expose yourself to positive and godly influences. Church becomes like an extended family with people who genuinely care about you.
So, how about today setting aside all of the world’s trappings and worries and go to church instead. If you go with the right frame of mind I guarantee you will be blessed in more ways than you thought possible.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
This psalm tells us to remember God’s goodness and dependability, and then to worship with thanksgiving and praise!
God alone is worthy of being worshiped. What is your attitude toward worship? Do you willingly and joyfully come into God’s presence, or are you just going through the motions, reluctantly going to church?
Remember, God is worthy of our worship on a daily basis. Why? He gave you life.
