Guarding Your Going Out and Coming In

Today is Wednesday. A day some people commonly refer to as “hump” day. Why do people see this day as an indicator the week is almost over? Is it because we have so many issues affecting our lives that we feel pressure to get things done before the weekend?

In Psalms 121, David, the great king, talks about the benefits of his relationship with the Lord. The psalm starts with him asking the question, “where does my help come?” and then he answers the question by saying, “my help comes from the Lord.”

In the remaining verses David talks about the peace he has in his life because he says, “God will not allow your foot to slip; he who keeps you will not slumber (24 hour protection); the Lord will protect you from all evil and will keep your soul. Finally, he says the Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from now and forever.” – emphasis added.

So, as you go through the remainder of this day and the rest of the week, you can be sure the Lord is there for you whenever you need him. He loves you so much that he doesn’t sleep so he can keep His eye on you. Rest easy. You are in the care and protection of our loving Lord and Savior.
