I Am Under The Weather

Hello faithful readers. I injured my back a few days ago and I am more or less disabled. I am on the road to recovery but it is a very slow process. I would appreciate any prayers you might have for me during your worship or prayer time. Thank you. Blessings to all.

I will post again when and if I have enough energy. Thanks.

When God Touches Your Life, Don’t Be Afraid to Share

The man who had been freed from the demons begged to go with him. But Jesus sent him home, saying, “No, go back to your family, and tell them everything God has done for you.” So he went all through the town proclaiming the great things Jesus had done for him. — Luke 8:38-39 NLT

Often, Jesus asked those he healed to be quiet about the healing, but he urged this man to return to his family and tell them what God had done for him. Why? (1) Jesus knew the man would be an effective witness to those who knew his previous condition and could attest to the miraculous healing. (2) Jesus wanted to expand his ministry by introducing his message into this Gentile area. (3) Jesus knew that the Gentiles, since they were not expecting a Messiah, would not divert his ministry by trying to crown him king.

When God touches your life, don’t be afraid to share the wonderful events with your family and friends.

Go. And Sin No More.

Woman at the well with Jesus

The Lord understands our human frailty. And even before we do wrong, He knows the poisonous harvest that we will reap from sin. We certainly want a lot of comfort when we are suffering from our own foolishness. A loving heavenly Father does not abandon His children at their hour of great need—His Spirit wades into the mess we have made. He offers to guide us out of the pit, soothes our broken heart, and provides reassurance that He is always close by.

Sinning against the Lord makes us feel unworthy of His care and solace. Yet God’s forgiveness is based on His great mercy rather than our conduct. If Jesus Christ sacrificed His life to save you from your sins, then He will love and comfort you, no matter what.

Approaching the great physician of our soul

We may be diseased with sin so as to be loathsome in our own eyes and morally infectious to our neighbors and acquaintances; we may be leprous with sin so as to be cut off from the fellowship of the saints and the communion of the holy; we may be under the ban of man and the curse of heaven; yet if we approach this great Physician of our soul as well as our body, confiding in his power and trusting in his mercy, we shall obtain, and that without fail, healing and health for our diseased spirits and sin-sick souls.

Thousands alive this day can testify from actual happy experiences to the healing power of Jesus’ word, the cleansing efficacy of his blood, and the renewing, purifying, and sanctifying influences of his Spirit.

So, consider this – He is still the same – “the same, yesterday, to-day, and for ever,” and able as ever to “save to the uttermost all that come unto God by him.” Therefore, by giving your life to Him you become a new creation in Christ through His life-saving blood and merciful grace.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow, now and forever more.
