Waiting on God and His Answer to Prayer

“But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint.”—Isaiah 40:31

“Wait for it!” How many times have you heard someone say this? It can have a two-fold meaning. You must wait for something exciting about to happen or your waiting involves, well, waiting. This second one is the area God works in.

When we’re required to wait for an answer to prayer or anything in life, it can be stressful not knowing the outcome. Why does it have to be stressful if you have complete faith in God to answer in His time?

There is a commercial on TV that says, “I want it all and I want it now.” That statement typifies the thinking of most of us today. We’ve become impatient if we don’t get things right away. We mumble to ourselves or in some cases even state out loud our dissatisfaction with having to wait.

If you completely trust God to take care of you, provide for you and protect you then why not do just that? Trust Him to answer your prayer according to His will and in His time for your life. Don’t try to get ahead of Him because when you do you will miss His many blessings in your life.

Therefore, “Wait for it” or in our case “Wait for Him.”
