“26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. 28 Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God.”
Have you ever found yourself wondering if God cares about you? This question may come up when experiencing trouble in your life. Some might say something like, “God, why are you causing this to happen to me? I thought you loved me?”
Yes, God does love you and He qualifies His love for you in the verses we read above. He will give you a new heart and a new spirit and all the rest to help you understand just how much He cares. God’s grace and mercy extend far beyond our comprehension but suffice it to say, God’s love for you is always there.
It’s important for us to realize that our choices affect the outcome of how our lives move forward on a daily basis. The bible indicates that when we are in the world and living a life of sin, we are the enemies of God. But, there is always hope which is based in God’s love for us. His word says in Romans 5:8, “But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
When God goes to the great length of sacrificing His only son on the cross to save you from eternal damnation, then it is smart on our part to acknowledge God’s love for us by living a life that is sin free and glorifies His Holy name.
