What Is The Condition of Your Heart?

Have your prayers been answered lately? Have you been praying and asking God to help you in a particular situation but it seems like He is not hearing you? There may be things between you and God that should be cleared up first. In 1 Samuel 7:3, Samuel talked to the people of Israel and told them what was needed from them in order for God to bless them.

1 Samuel 7:3  Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, “If you return to the LORD with all your heart, remove the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your hearts to the LORD and serve Him alone; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.” or from other issues you face. (my thought added)

There is one thing to keep in mind when you pray and ask God to intervene in your life. What is the condition of your heart? Is it free from all things that could block your prayers with God? For example, having jealousy in your heart while asking God to bless you is not what God wants. In 1 Chronicles 28:9, it says God knows your heart and if you forsake Him, He will reject your forever.

1 Chronicles 28:9  “As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.

God does not want to see any of us perish and spend eternity separated from Him. Make your heart right before the Lord. Humble yourself before the Lord and confess your sins and He is faithful and just to forgive you. From today forward, let your heart be free of the world’s trappings and focus only on the one true God.
