How Do You Get Through Your Tough Times?

Everybody has them. Tough times happen because that’s the way life is. How we react to those tough times is the subject of today’s post.

Most of us at one time or another think it’s the other guys fault that we’re having a bad day. In some cases that might be true. Most of the time our troubles happen as a result of the choices we’ve made. As a Christian I’ve asked God to remove a difficult situation from time to time, however, most of the time He doesn’t.

Some might say that if He’s a loving God, why does He allow things to happen to us? Why doesn’t He remove the difficult situation from your life? God has a plan for each one of us. For some, His plans seems fairly simple and straightforward. For others, it seems like they constantly live from one difficulty to another. Is that fair? Looking at it from man’s perspective we might say, “no.” If we look at it from God’s perspective we’ll discover that He has a plan for each of us.

In Romans 5:3 we see how God helps us through our trials and tribulations. First, we develop a perseverance to see things through. Second, by sticking with it and see things through to the end we develop character within ourselves. Third, with that character we can have hope which does not disappoint. Finally, the love of God will be poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.

If those solutions to your difficulties are not enough then think about this. “God demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ came and died for us.” (Romans 5:8) The bottom line is that our sinful nature caused us to make choices we shouldn’t have. But, God gives us the tools to deal with these problems on a daily basis, if we’ll just follow His word for our lives.
